Delivery days

Asks go to offices on set days: the first and third Wednesday of every month. The days are the same for every office, in every month of every year. Nobody picks the day for an ask, and nobody presses send.

Set on Fri, Oct 9, 2026. If anything here changes, the change is posted on this page, with its date, before it takes effect.

How an ask goes

• An ask goes on the next delivery day once three different neighbors have signed it.
• On a delivery day, each list goes to its office by email and by mail.
• The office's 60 days start one week after the delivery day. Day 60 is a Sunday, so the date shown is the Monday after: an ask that goes Wed, Jan 20 shows "The office has until Mon, Mar 29."
• When the office replies from its published email address, the reply is its answer. It shows on the ask word for word, with its date, and the 60 days stop. Nobody at Wildfire approves it.
• If the ask's page has no answer after 60 days, it says "No answer on this page in 60 days." It says so only if a neighbor who signed said that week that the problem is still there, and never about something neighbors say is fixed.
• No date moves for an election.

Which offices

• Every office gets one letter from Wildfire before its first list. No office's 60 days start until 60 days after its letter.
• The 60 days run only at offices that publish both an email address and a street address: the 50 ward offices, the Department of Housing, the Chicago Police Department's non-emergency contact, the Office of Inspector General and the City Treasurer's office.
• Any other office is told about an ask with one dated line, and has no 60 days.
• A company gets the ask and how many signed, never the names. A company never gets a "no answer" line or a count.
